Preparing Our Injury Cases From the Beginning To Get Fair Results
When we take a case, we prepare it as if we will have to try it. We tell our clients this when they come in to meet with us for their initial consultation, and we mean what we say. Preparing a case for trial from the beginning takes more work, but we believe it makes a difference – even if we end up settling the case. It’s just how we think things ought to be done to get the best results for our clients.
Of course there are cases that need to be tried because the various sides cannot agree on the value. This past month, we had a case in which we didn’t think the insurer was offering a fair amount to settle; so we tried it here in Carroll County and got a verdict for twice what the insurer had offered to settle for. Our preparation from day one to try that case made a difference. We can’t say enough what an amazing team we have working on our cases and how well everyone does his or her job.
One other thing I’d like to mention about that verdict last week: insurance companies and their lawyers are quick to say you can’t get a decent verdict in Carroll County, Georgia. They obviously don’t know the people who live here. People in our county are not going to just hand out money, but they do believe that victims of other people’s negligence should be fairly compensated for their injuries. It is our job as attorneys representing our clients in personal injury cases to present our client’s case to the jury so the jury can reach the right result.
If you are not fully prepared to try your case, then the jury will not be presented with the information it needs to reach a favorable result. While most cases settle and will continue to do so, preparation is key to getting our client the fair result they deserve. You can count on us to be prepared and work as hard as necessary to give you the quality representation you deserve.
