Stephen earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2000. He went straight to law school at the University of Mississippi School of Law, graduating in 2003. He is a 2013 graduate of the Mississippi Bar’s Leadership Forum. He has served as the attorney for the Civil Service Commission for the City of Meridian, Mississippi, since 2014. In 2015, the Meridian Star Reader’s Choice, awarded him best Attorney.
Outside of the practice of law, he has served in numerous civic organizations, including serving on the Boards of the Jimmie Rodgers Foundation, the Mississippi Center for Legal Services, the Mississippi Association for Justice (formerly Miss. Trial Lawyer’s Association), and has served as Clerk of the Vestry for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Meridian, Mississippi. Stephen is also an Eagle Scout. He has been married for 17 years to his wife, Mary, who is a teacher with the Carrollton City School District. They have three children, Robert (12), Drew (7), and Sarah (3).
